Talkabout Program
Many of the children in Greenbank School will benefit from support with their social communication skills through targeted class based group work. The Speech and Language Therapy service supports staff in implementing the “Talkabout” social skills groups in school. These sessions aim to:
- Provide a detailed and individualised overview of each child’s social skills difficulties.
- Provide Talkabout social skills groups.
- Teach children about the importance of:
- Self-Awareness and Self-Esteem
- Body Language
- Conversational Skills
- Assertiveness Skills
- Friendship skills
You may be asked to complete a questionnaire with or about your child’s social skills so that we can gather as much information as possible on how best to help them.
