Welcome back to the second half of the Autumn Term. School will hold Remembrance Assemblies from 4th November

Welcome to Greenbank School

Greenbank School is an 11-18 special school for pupils with autism, speech, language, social and communication difficulties. All pupils have an EHCP in place, which is an admission requirement. School has an educational residential provision for pupils from Year 9-11 which supports Outcomes within the EHCP. Pupils can access either an extended day or overnight stay once each week. Based in the village of Hartford, school is consistently oversubscribed, presenting challenges to class sizes and maintaining the effectiveness of autism strategies that support the needs of pupils.

What you will see: A calm, bright, welcoming and caring atmosphere within a well-maintained teaching and learning environment that is respected by pupils. This puts pupils in an excellent position to engage with their learning and develop their communication, self-esteem, confidence and friendships. They enjoy coming to school (attendance 23-24= 93%). You may get the false impression that pupils do not have a high level of need- be under no illusion that the reason pupils have a high level of engagement, enjoy school, and generate the calm ready to learn environment is due to the highly specilaised skill set of staff who consistently adopt trauma informed practices together with adaptive autism strategies and a very detailed knowledge and understanding of our pupils that supports our high ambition for all pupils to succeed, develop and thrive. Take this away and you would see a very different school. Pupil’s leave having learnt and succeeded together ready to enter adulthood.
