Sixth Form

In the Sixth Form we aim to provide a challenging and motivating curriculum that meets the diverse learning needs of our students, as well as preparing them for post school transition. The Sixth Form offers a personalised and differentiated curriculum based on the students’ individual needs, abilities and learning styles.

We deliver a curriculum linked to nationally accredited courses. Our curriculum is constantly evolving in order to best meet the student’s needs and to develop their functional skills, personal and life skills.

We encourage student-centred learning, challenge students to achieve and enable students to learn through experience.

All students have Individual Learning Pathways and the opportunity to achieve appropriate qualifications. Our personalised progression pathways include the opportunity to experience a range of college links courses enabling students to make informed decisions about their future.

Students are also encouraged to take an active role in the school through the School’s Council, Sports Leadership activities, work experience and peer mentoring. Sixth Formers are encouraged to act as positive role models for younger students.

Our ultimate aim is that our students leave Greenbank as happy, confident, mature and assertive adults, equipped with the necessary skills and qualities to make a successful and smooth transition to post school placements.

'The sixth form is outstanding and has continued to grow and develop since the previous inspection.  There are increased opportunities for students to achieve external awards which match their ability and prepare them extremely well for their future lives.' OFSTED Report 2013
